New Baby Sewing Projects

Who knew I could make an entire quilt from leftover fabric? Now the girls will have matching blankets. I based my quilt on this great tutorial.
And a new diaper bag...I'm really proud of this one. I installed a zipper pocket, snaps, used velcro and interfacing! Tutorial here.
And last but not least....a little doll for my toddler, with all this baby sewing, I felt she needed a special something :) Check out these cute dolls here.

Grocery Bag Contest!

I am getting a bit bored in these last few weeks before the baby comes! I don't have much energy though to do things, so I decided to sew yesterday. I made 6 bags! www.sewmamasew.com was having a contest, but I didn't realize they extended the deadline until this morning. So who knows....maybe I'll win something for making some "green" bags for the new year! The morsbag tutorial was SO SIMPLE. The tote bag tutorial wasn't difficult either, but I decided shopping bags didn't need a pocket or a gusseted bottom. Happy Almost New Year :)

Grab Bag Purses

I wanted to make a little something for my voice students when they graduated from high school. These grab bag purses (that I finally got around to sewing), are NOT my favorite. The straps are not easy to make look nice, and for such a simple bag, ....I don't know....maybe just not my thing. I'm not sure if the pattern is still available, but I got mine off of: allpeoplequilts.com

Mod Sampler Quilt

I'm finally getting around to posting my new quilt! I did everything myself, every last stitch. I desperately need help learning how to bind though. Supposedly this should be the easy part, especially after stippling the whole thing! Here is the back,...I almost like it more than the front.
Here is the front. So cute, huh?! Love the green, black and white combo. I used a wonderful tutorial from ohfransson.com. Here is the link.

Baby Gifts

I am just about done with my "to-do" list for other people...and then I can start sewing for my new baby! Here is a receiving blanket/ burp cloth and hooded towel and washcloth. Now if I could just find the address to send one off in the mail......Oh I can't wait to post my brand new quilt I made just for me.....quilted and everything....oh I LOVE IT.....

The "Oh sooo wonderful Hooter Hider"

I absolutely loved the nursing cover a friend made for me during my last pregnancy, so I just had to learn how to make it! There are a few different variations on the web, but I used mostly this tutorial. I used a little larger piece for better coverage so you can tuck the sides under your arm, and a little longer boning in the top.....(it's nice to be able to smile at your sweet baby :) I wish I could keep it, but alas, another friend is need!

Cute little purse

One of my girl's at church had a birthday so I made her this. You can find the tutorial here.
